Cookie policy
This page describes the cookies and similar technologies used by the website of the Fondazione Alfredo Catarsini 1899 and explains how to manage your preferences. For details of the data controller and your rights, please see the Privacy notice.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to make pages work, remember your choices or, with your consent, for other purposes. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, are treated in the same way.
Necessary cookies (always active)
These are needed for the website to work and do not require consent.

wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* | This website | Access to the editorial back office: they do not concern visitors | Session, or 14 days with “Remember me” |
Functional cookies (with your consent)
These are used to show content from other websites embedded in our pages. They are blocked until you accept them: in their place you will see a box with a button to display them.
| Service | Provider | Where | What it involves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Google Ireland Ltd | Contacts | Interactive map. Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies if you interact with the map |

Marketing cookies (with your consent)
These relate to the YouTube videos embedded on the website. YouTube also uses these cookies to profile users for advertising, which is why they remain blocked until you accept them.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |

VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA | YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd) | Connection estimate and the visitor’s consent preferences | 180 days |
__Secure-YNID, __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN | YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd) | Browser identification and profiling | 180 days |
YSC | YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd) | Statistics on videos watched | Session |
Embedded content without cookies
Some news items about the Cammino show a preview of pages from Visit Versilia and the Municipality of Lucca. These are isolated frames that cannot write cookies; the originating website does, however, receive your IP address, as with any web page you visit.
Statistics, without cookies
The website counts, in aggregate form only, the pages opened, the audio recordings played, the channel visitors arrive from (a search engine, a social network, a link on another website) and some clicks, such as those on an email address or a telephone number. It does so with its own tool, hosted on the website itself: it uses no cookies, keeps no IP address or other identifier and does not tell one visitor from another, but only keeps daily totals. For this reason it does not require consent. Users logged in to the back office are not counted.
The website uses no advertising or profiling tools of its own. If any are introduced, this page will be updated and the banner will ask for your consent again.
Managing your preferences
- On your first visit the banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-necessary ones or choose category by category.
- You can change your mind at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom left, the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page, or from here.
- Your choice lasts 180 days and can always be withdrawn; if the website introduces new cookies, the banner will be shown again.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
